Local Singleton earth moving business, Yunaga, will now be able to expand commercial operations and tender for bigger and more valuable projects thanks to a $1.82 million Coalition Government investment for the purchase of new plant equipment.

NEW BRIDGES FOR RICHMOND

Six bridges in Byron Shire and one bridge in Tweed Shire will be replaced with funding announced in Round Three of the Australian Government’s Bridges Renewal Program.

The Nationals Duty Senator for Richmond said he is delighted to announce that Byron Shire Council will receive $570,000 towards the total cost of $1.14 million to replace the bridge at Blindmouth Creek Crossing.

He said the Australian Government will contribute $2.58 million towards the replacement of five bridges in the Bangalow Agricultural Area which have a total project cost of $5.17 million.

In Tweed Shire, replacing the Byrill Creek Road Bridge will cost $4.35 million of which the government will provide $2.17 million.

Senator Williams said Tweed Shire Council had previously received $950,000 towards the $2.1 million Anthonys Bridge at Murwillumbah which is now complete.

Two new bridges will be built in the Cessnock City Council area with funding announced in Round Three of the Australian Government’s Bridges Renewal Program.

The Nationals Duty Senator for Hunter John Williams said he is delighted to announce that the bridge at Paynes Crossing will be replaced with a contribution from the Australian Government of $667,000 with Cessnock Council to fund the balance of the $1.33 million project.

Senator Williams said funding of $437,000 is being provided for the replacement of Whitings Bridge with the total replacement cost being $875,000.

He said previously the government had announced 50% funding for the new structure to replace Fosters Bridge in Cessnock City Council area, and for the replacement of the Brookers Bridge in Singleton Council area.

New Horizons Enterprises Limited will be able to provide additional case management services in the Tweed Heads region, thanks to a $329,567 grant from the Coalition Government.

Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion, said that New Horizons Enterprises Limited would receive funding to provide case management services for 17 to 24 year old men who are at risk of entering the justice system and case management consisting of additional community support and advocacy services for women with social and emotional wellbeing needs through until 30 June 2019.
